PRIMARY SCHOOL
FOUNDATION PHASE
The phase consists of 2 sections individually catering for blind and partially sighted learners from Grade 1 to 3.  The Grade R class is a combination of blind and partially sighted learners.

Blind learners start with pre-braille skills and uncontracted braille.  Thereafter they advance to contracted braille.

All braille classes are equipped with Perkins braillers for each learner. The partially sighted classrooms are equipped with CCTV screens amongst other equipment.

The following subjects are offered in line with CAPS:
  • English Home Language
  • Afrikaans Home Language
  • English First Additional Language
  • Afrikaans First Additional Language
  • Mathematics
  • Life Skills
Learners also acquire basic computer keyboard skills during this phase
INTERMEDIATE PHASE
The phase consists of 2 sections individually catering for blind and partially sighted learners from Grade 1 to 3.  The Grade R class is a combination of blind and partially sighted learners.

SECONDARY SCHOOL
SENIOR PHASE
Blind and partially sighted learners are accommodated in combined classes. Each class is equipped with CCTV screens for partially sighted learners as well as Perkins braillers for blind learners.

The Senior Phase (Grades 7 – 9) offers the following subjects in line with CAPS:

SECTION FOR SPECIALIZED EDUCATION

MID SECTION
Within the Section for Special Education for learners with Mild Intellectual Disability an adjusted CAPS is implemented and the Technical Occupational Curriculum (TOC) is followed with the year 1 – 4 learners as prescribed by the Department of Education (previously known as Grade 6 – 9 SSE).

  • English Home Language
  • Afrikaans Home Language
  • English First Additional Language
  • Afrikaans First Additional Language
  • Mathematics
  • Life Orientation – divided into Creative Arts, Physical Education, and Personal and Social Well-being
  • Natural Science
  • The TOC includes practical subjects such as Office Administration and Consumer Studies which prepare the learners for the world of work.
The learners complete their schooling in Year 4.
SID SECTION
The section for learners with Severe Intellectual Disability follows the Differentiated Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (D-CAPS). There are four classes:

Class 2: Ages 11 -13 years old
Class 3: Ages 14 – 16 years old
Class 4: Ages 17 – 18 years old.

Learners leave school at the age of 18, seeking work at sheltered workplaces.
